Geir Sivertzen
4th-Generation Optician & Founder of PantoGlasses
Geir Sivertzen is a 4th-generation Norwegian optician and the founder of PantoGlasses AS. Based in Gjøvik, Norway, he comes from a family with a long tradition in optical craftsmanship. His father earned his own optical craft certificate in 1956, continuing a family connection to the profession.
Geir developed his own connection with the Panto shape through hands-on optical craftsmanship, creating the Panto Oxford model from scratch as part of his craft training. His work involved technical drawings, frame construction and soldering, followed by grinding optical lenses by hand.
That experience became the foundation for his long-standing interest in the Panto lens shape — a rounded, balanced form that is distinctive without being perfectly circular. Today, through PantoGlasses, Geir works to preserve and reintroduce this classic eyewear design while adapting it for modern prescription eyewear and sunglasses.
Beyond eyewear, Geir has a background in marketing, product development and international sourcing, as well as a long-standing involvement in competitive fishing through Team Mustad Norway. His combination of optical craftsmanship, product development and passion for the Panto shape continues to shape the PantoGlasses brand.
